Today Laura came to visit!  But I am a doofus and didn't take any pictures of course... so then I was worried that I wouldn't have a photo for the day, but then the power went out!  Viola, blog post.  I sorta loved it :)

Today Bryan and Emily and I went for a hike on the Bill Wallace Trail!  There was zero shade but a nice breeze.  We got a little lost so it kinda ended up being two hikes, but it was still really fun.  At the top of the hill, Emily got stung by a bee and she is allergic!  So we freaked out for a second, and then I stabbed her with an epi pen - good thing she had it!!  So that was exciting, then she bought $10 Benadryl at the stupid El Capitan Canyon store, and got really sleepy on the drive home.  Everything was a-okay!

Day 243

Today Hannah came to visit!  We walked to the chalk art festival again, and then wandered around the rose garden.  It was really nice.  The flowers smelled amazing and I took lots of pictures!  And Hannah got stung by a bee on her foot.  Ouch.

Day 242

Today we went to i Madonnari at the Mission!  We also went surfing and boogie boarding and took a 3 hour nap.  But no pictures of that, haha, so I cheated and stole this picture from tomorrow, since we went to the festival again!

She is going to kill me... hahaha today Emily and I went on a lady date.  I always take the best pictures of her... but seriously the banana cream pie was delicious!

Today it was a beautiful bike ride home.  I love when the mountains go in layers like this in the afternoon!

Today I went to REI because it's their 75th anniversary sale... I wasn't really planning on buying anything but I came out with a camping hammock, a rope set, a new compression sack, a lightweight blow up pillow, and an igniter for my jet boil!  I wasn't sure about the hammock but I figured it would be worth a try, so I set it up in the park by my house and just lounged for a while.  Needless to say, it was great.  What a beautiful day!  I'm excited to try it out on a camping expedition...

Today me and Bryan went for a bike ride!  It was a beautiful day and we realized how awesome Goleta is, even if it can be boring sometimes.

Today I made a humongous salad for lunch.  Seriously it was giant.  I'm sure you can kindof tell, but really it was so so so so big... it had lettuce, kale, chard, garbanzo beans, tomatoes, carrots, olives, goat cheese, avocado, and maybe more things but I forget.  I started eating it at 12:30 and finished it at 5.  Awesome.

The girls went to happy hour today!! Blackberry mojitos, yum.  Followed by the Great Gatsby, which I just freakin loved!

This weekend I got Birkenstocks... and I am very proud!  They are kindof hurting my feet in a bunch of places but that will go away soon and then they will be the most comfortable things on earth.  Hopefully :)

Walking home from babysitting today there was an awesome crescent moon out!

Today was the greatest!!  We woke up early and headed to Solvang to cheer on Stephanie in her half marathon - which she finished in UNDER 2 HOURS!  Then we ate aebleskivers, yum.  Then Bryan and I got some plants and did a little gardening before our night out - dinner at Jane and Iron Man 3 at the Arlington.  It was fun :)

OCTOPUS!! Today Stephanie gave Bryan and I a tour of her work - the Sea Center!  It was such a beautiful stormy day out on the wharf, and the waves were huge.  I love weather :)

Okay so I realize pretty much all of my posts are about food.  And on a day like today, I usually would NOT post about food since we did lots of other stuff, like went on a bike ride, went to the beach, boogie boarded, saw some dolphins, all sorts of stuff!  But I'm making an exception because this was an awesome and epic food experience.  We made the potstickers from Smitten Kitchen!  It was kindof an ordeal but mostly just really fun and sooooo delicious :)  Ours aren't as beautiful as hers, but hey, whatever.

Today I made a radish and cabbage salad!  It was interesting.  I don't know if radishes are my thing, haha.  But they are pretty!

Today was first Thursday!  Which apparently means a lot of things in Santa Barbara... there's bike moves, which is what this picture is of, and then there's this art wine tasting thing.  Which is way too snooty.  Next month, bike moves it is!  It was the perfect warm night to be out and about :)

My dream has come to fruition!  The most hard-to-get dog is starting to like me, and I have not even bribed her with treats.  YES!
