Today me and Bryan went to the store and they were having a fundraiser - donate a dollar and get a rootbeer float, heck yes!!

Day 333
Day nine... we returned to civilization. From over 12,000 feet to sea level in just a few hours. This is from the car on the drive home... man is it weird to be moving this fast again!
Day 332
We made it! The climb to Whitney was awesome, and we had a lovely photoshoot with this adorable marmot at the top. He is really workin it.
Day 331
It was a beautiful morning today because for the first time in four days we woke up and everything was dry! Thank god for the rain being over. Whitney tomorrow!!!!!
Day 330
Today was VERY different than yesterday. The pass just about killed me. Well, I guess there was hail both days, but yesterday we were in a tent and today we were on the top of a 13,500 foot ridge... YIKES! But the amazing clouds afterwards made it totally worth it :D
Day 329
Today was our first pass back on the JMT... I was scared. But it was a really gorgeous morning and I just couldn't get over the reflections in the lake! And it turned out that the pass wasn't even that hard. Awesome.

Day 327
Day three took us another six miles to our end point from last year - the Woods Creek suspension bridge! We anxiously awaited the other girls' arrival. They showed up! In the middle of a pretty heavy rain, which turned into this really cool red sunset eventually... so begins Part 2 of the JMT :)
Day 326
Day two on the trail! We had a super chill and awesome day today, only hiked about 4 miles, and had lots of relaxing river time :) We definitely aren't glamping but it kinda feels like it... also we saw a really cute BEAR but it was way too fast and awesome to take a picture, so this will have to do!
Day 325
We woke up at about 4am today, rolled out of bed and drove downtown to catch our bus to Bakersfield! The bus was good, we just hung out and talked and read magazines (thanks to Penny, the best train station chauffeur ever!). Then we got to Bakersfield and boarded our train to Hanford, which was also fun and I almost killed Tina trying to smush my backpack into the overhead compartment... oopsie! Stephanie's dad met us in Hanford with delicious homemade bean and cheese burritos, then drove us the 3 hours to Road's End in Kings Canyon National Park. We successfully picked up our permit from a very slow moving and slow talking ranger, then finally hiked the 6 miles into our campsite - hello, nature!!
Day 324
Today was the big day... last day of work, and time to pack! I miraculously fit everything into my pack and went to bed nice and early :)

Day 323
Today Bryan and I went on a little date night, since I'll be leaving soon for the JMT and not seeing him for more than a week! For dessert we got to make our own s'mores. Yummmmmm.
Day 321
I am just super excited about this adorable little honey I'm bringing on my trip... and I think it's going to make me a lot happier than my super duper heavy full sized honey did last year!

Day 320
Alright... it's less than a week until we embark on part two of the JMT, and I am so excited! But have done almost nothing to prepare, so that's what I did today :) All my food is packed, and Stephanie Pat and I went on a nice quick hike with our packs and watched a beautiful sunset! Sierras here we come...
Day 318
We had a little work bowling party today at Zodo's! It was super fun, and Nushaw was really good... especially when she used the alligator thingy. Lol.
Day 317
CSA day!! I upped our box size since it's going to become a house shared thing, and the bigger box is just awesoooome :)
Day 316
Did all my JMT shopping at REI today and saw this awesome shirt :) And of course I spent way too much even though I thought I already had everything I needed... luckily my awesome boss gave me a $100 gift card so that helped me out big time!

Day 315
Took the train from Anaheim back to Santa Barbara today, which was really nice and relaxing - I even finished Into the Wild, which I've been reading since what feels like forever!
Day 314
Today we went to the happiest place on earth, which is also the most tiring place on earth, Disneyland!! It was a blast, and we did just about everything there was to do.
Day 313
Today we went kayaking! It was so beautiful out - saw two seals (or maybe the same one twice) a dolphin, and lots of kelp. What fun! Also Mommy almost passed out, or something.
